What is a Full-Service Restoration Company?

What is a Full-Service Restoration Company?

When you suffer from a fire or from serious water damage, it can be frustrating and overwhelming. Once 911 has been called, there are so many other things to think about. You will probably ask yourself, “What type of restoration company should I call? What exactly needs to be done? What will the restoration company do?”

Some restoration companies will only do certain things or may only focus on cleaning up the damage. You should look for restoration companies that are considered “full service.” This means that they cover everything in the process from start to finish. Full-service restoration companies, like Mr Restore, are different from others because they will ensure all steps are covered. This includes assessing the property, mitigation, content storage, working with your insurance company, repairing and rebuilding.

Check out all that Mr Restore does as a full-service restoration company:

Assessing the Property

Once you call a full-service restoration company, they will arrive at your property to begin assessing the damage. Mr Restore will arrive within 60 minutes of your call. We will begin walking around the property to assess the damage and determine what needs to be done. We will decide what equipment will be needed, what items can be saved, and what should be done next. We will load photos and create an evaluation within our project management system, Job-Dox that can be accessed by customers at any time.

Mitigation and Content Storage

After assessing the damage, a full-service company will begin removing salvageable items. Some items can simply be cleaned or dried and will be good as new. If you have items that are not damaged at all, a full-service company will take them to a safe, clean storage area until the restoration process is complete. Mr Restore will take special care of your items, and will treat them as if they are their own.

Mr Restore transports and stores your items for you in our on-site warehouse. Once your home has been restored,  we will bring the items back. While your items are stored, we begin working on reducing the damage and severity of the fire, flood, or sewage damage. For water damage, this usually includes extracting the water, drying and dehumidifying, and taking precautions to prevent mold and mildew growth. For fire damage, mitigation includes extracting the water used to put out the fire, removing the smoke and related odor and cleaning soot and other debris.

Working with Insurance Companies

An adjuster will come to your property to determine the approved insurance amount. Considering that many items may need to be replaced and your home may need a few repairs or replacements, it can be overwhelming. Mr. Restore can accommodate the requirements of the insurance companies by documenting all the work and taking pictures as part of the loss prevention process using Job-Dox. As a full-service restoration company in Dallas, we have a working relationship with many insurance providers.

Repairs

Many restoration companies stop after mitigating the property, which is why it is so important to use a full-service company. After cleaning and salvaging the property, Mr restore will begin making the needed repairs. For example, some wood floors can be salvaged and refinished rather than being completely replaced. Mr Restore is very experienced in knowing what can be repaired and what needs to be completely replaced. Our goal is to always give you the best possible solution, whether that means restoring your items or getting insurance companies to replace them for you.

Keep in mind that some items cost more to restore than to replace, but because of the sentimental value, we understand that they are simply irreplaceable. Mr Restore is happy to try to repair/restore items that we would otherwise replace if it is possible.

Rebuild/Replace

Lastly, after everything is cleaned and repaired, Mr Restore will completely rebuild the areas of your home that could not have been fixed or salvaged. This includes repainting walls that had melted paint or paint that needed to be removed, replacing the carpet, and adding or installing new cabinets.

Mr Restore wants to ensure that when you and your family come back to your home after a disaster, that you feel at home again. This type of care and service is what makes Mr Restore stand out. Once we are complete, we will bring your items back to your home.

Our customer-first service and quality of work earned us the Angie’s List Super Service Award from 2012-2017, and an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We have the knowledge and drive to complete all your restoration services.
