We had the opportunity to help with one of our favorite traditions this past week at a Coats for Kids event. The Garland Firefighters Association annually provides winter coats to children at a local elementary school. The department coordinates with Operation Warm in a nationwide effort to provide new coats to families in need. "In 2012, Operation Warm partnered with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). Since then, "firefighters have become the heroes on the frontlines of Operation Warm's mission" – Operation Warm. We enjoyed greeting the children and helping them pick out brand-new coats. They were so excited to be able to choose a coat in their favorite color as well. Serving alongside the Garland Fire Department to help this community was a blessing to our team, and we look forward to this event every year.
